"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
In a few simple steps, you can discover how to know Jesus in your life and be right with God forever.
God created us for His pleasure and so that we would have the pleasure, through a relationship with Him, of living a full and special life.
The Bible says…
“For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.”
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
“For in him we live and move and have our being.”
If that is true, then why don’t most people have this
full and special life that God planned for us to have?
When God created us, He gave us the ability to make choices. We chose to defy God’s plan for us by our self-centered and evil ways. This action resulted in separation from God, spiritual and physical death and the inability for God to give us the full and special life He wants us to have.
The Bible says…
“But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.”
“For the wages of sin is death…”
“No one calls on your name or strives to lay hold of you; for you have hidden your face from us and made us waste away because of our sins.”
People over the years have tried all kinds of ways to bridge this gap between themselves and God in order to correct the problem. Some have tried to do this by doing good works, others have tried by following man-made philosophies and still others have attempted to live a moral and ethical life but all have failed. No matter what we do and no matter how well we try to do things to make it right, we fail. We are imperfect people who make wrong decisions and do bad things that keep us separated from God.
The Bible says…
“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.”
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.”
1 John 1:8
No bridge made by us reaches God. However, there is a way.
God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into our world to voluntarily pay the penalty for humanity’s disobedience to Him by dying as a substitute for us on a cross and then raising Him up on the third day. He gave His life for us so we could be right with God again.
The Bible says… “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.”
1 Peter 3:18
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.”
1 Timothy 2:5
God has provided the only way to Him. Each person must make a choice.
The way to make things right with God is to confess to God and the world and believe in ones heart that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Lord. By doing this, we accept God’s free gift of salvation and restoration through Jesus Christ and are willing to allow Him to bring meaning and guidance to our lives.
The Bible says…
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Where are you? Will you receive Jesus Christ right now?
To receive Jesus Christ into your life right now and make things right with God again and know the life He desires to give you, you must:
• Admit that you have gone your own way and lived without God.
• Be willing to turn from your old ways.
• Believe that Jesus died for you on the cross and rose from the grave.
• Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come into your life as your Savior and Lord and ask God to guide your life from now on.
Are you ready? Then pray the following prayer:
“Dear God, please forgive me for going my own way and living a life apart from you. Today I am making the decision to turn away from my old life and to turn toward you. I believe that Jesus died for me on the cross and rose from the grave. Thank you Lord! I ask that Jesus would come into my life and save me. I receive the gift He purchased for me on the cross. I receive an eternal relationship with God by putting my faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior and risen Lord. Help me to live my life for you, through your Spirit, from this day forward. Amen.”
If you just prayed that prayer, we are so happy for you. The decision you just made is the most important decision you will ever make in your life. Oh! I almost forgot to tell you, there is one more thing.
If you humbly prayed the prayer above and believe it with all your heart, God promises that you are eternally saved and nothing can take you from Him or break your relationship with Him.
The Bible says…
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38, 39
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
By receiving Jesus Christ, we are born into God’s family and He promises to always be with us. We call this regeneration, or being “born again.”
This new life in Christ is the beginning of a wonderful adventure.
To deepen this relationship, we strongly suggest:
1. Take time to read your Bible everyday. Start with the Gospel of John.
2. Talk to God in prayer every day. He will love hearing from you.
3. Tell others about Jesus Christ. Good news should be shared.
4. Find a church where Christ is preached and begin to worship, fellowship and serve others with other Christians. This is a crucial step. No Christian should try and go it alone.
5. Love and serve those in need in our world just as Christ has loved you. Find ways to do acts of kindness toward others anonymously.
If you have made this commitment to Christ today, please let us know or why not stop by and worship with us some Sunday and let us know what you have done in person. We look forward to having you with us.
Sunday worship service begins at 11:00 AM
